No. Book online, show up, get scanned. No prescription, no insurance pre-auth, no waiting on a radiology department. 

Scan & Go is $69.95 (regularly $139.95). Scan + Insights is $89.95 (regularly $199.95). Follow-up visits are already paid. You book and pay online — we don’t take cash at the door. 

No. You pay online when you book. Hospital bone-density DEXAs billed through insurance are a different test and often don’t include fat, muscle, or visceral fat. 

Yes. Pay with your HSA or FSA card when you book. Whether the scan is eligible depends on your plan. We can give you an itemized receipt if your plan asks for one.

A whole-body composition DEXA uses a very small dose of X-rays — a fraction of a standard chest X-ray, in the same neighborhood as a day of everyday background radiation. It is not a CT. If you are pregnant or think you might be, skip the scan and call us. 

 Skip food and drinks for 2–3 hours. Small sips of water are fine. Wear metal-free clothes (no zippers, underwire, or jewelry). We have gowns if you need one. Same-day morning appointments are easiest if you like to scan fasted. 

 You’re on the table about 10 minutes. Plan on 20–30 minutes in the clinic if you want someone to walk the report with you — Scan + Insights. 

 A hospital scan ordered for osteoporosis usually covers the lumbar spine and hips. That’s bone density, period. Our scan is head-to-toe body composition: fat percentage, lean mass by arm, leg, and trunk, visceral fat, bone, and an estimated resting metabolic rate. 

 Yes — before you lose a lot of weight, then every 8–12 weeks. The scale cannot tell fat from muscle. A lot of people on semaglutide or tirzepatide lose lean mass they didn’t mean to. The scan is how you catch it while you can still change the plan. 

 
Every 8–12 weeks is the useful cadence for fat and muscle change. A single scan is a baseline. The second scan is when the first one starts to mean something. 

No. Appointment only. That’s how we keep the room private and on time. If you need something outside posted hours, call or text — we work with people. 

Scan & Go is the scan and the report in your hand. Scan + Insights is a sit-down after — what matters, what to ignore, what to do in the next 8 weeks. Follow-up is for people who already have a prepaid visit with us. 

Refund policy: Unused scans can be refunded within 3 business days of purchase. After a scan is used, or after that 3-day window, no refund. If you have a remaining prepaid visit and you’re moving out of the area, call and we’ll work with you. All scans have a 1-year expiration from time of purchase unless otherwise specified.

No-show policy:  If you miss your appointment without calling or messaging us first, you can rebook one time for a $30 rebooking fee, which covers the time we held for you. After that, a missed appointment is charged in full.

Need to change your time? No problem. You can reschedule or cancel any time before your appointment. There's no 24-hour rule. Just sign in online to change it yourself, or call, text, email, or leave us a message at (661) 873-5852 and we'll take care of it for you.
